Stephen Bear's flippant remark after receiving 21-month jail sentence over sex tape leak

Stephen Bear addressed the court with a flippant remark after being sentenced over image-based abuse charges for planning to film himself having sex with Love Island star Georgia Harrison and subsequently sharing the CCTV footage.

After being sentenced to 21 months in jail, Bear wished the court a "good weekend".

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner said: "Have a good weekend everyone."

Bear was handed a 21 month prison sentence after being found guilty of voyeurism by a majority verdict and guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress by an unanimous verdict by a jury.

The reality TV star received 21 months in jail for sharing the video to Only Fans, with nine months for count one and six months for count two, to run concurrently. Count one is a voyeurism charge and count two regards sending the video on WhatsApp to someone.

Ms Harrison addressed the press outside the court following Bear's sentencing.

She said: "I just want to say that I'm happy and relieved that this matter is finally over. This sentence is a vindication of what I've been put through and sends a clear message that the police and courts take this matter very seriously.

"I want all other victims of this crime know that I stand in solidarity with them and I have absolutely no regrets on waiving my anonymity.

"I hope this puts anyone off committing this sort of crime and I hope for anyone else who's been a victim of it, it gives them some sort of justice. Thank you so much for all of your support and that's it."

Before the sentencing judge Christopher Morgan told the court he as satisfied Bear knew his CCTV cameras were recording the pair having sex.

"In your own words 'people pay to watch Stephen Bear' that's what you told the jury. The edited video is precisely that," he said.

The judge said Bear would have also known the "economic value" of Georgia, a well known TV personality, being in the video.

Stephen arrived at Chelmsford Crown Court, earlier on Friday, dressed in black - in contrast to the exaggerated outfits he sported during the trial - alongside his partner Jessica Smith, who was also dressed head to toe in black.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner posed for selfies and could be heard singing Lady In Red to journalists gathered outside the court before a member of the public called Bear a "f***ing scumbag" as he went in.

In December, Bear remained calm when the guilty verdict was delivered but at the end, in the dock, he said: "From the beginning, it was never a fair trial, I was always fighting a losing battle."

Ms Harrison, who was in the courtroom when the verdict was read out, said: “I hope me taking a stand gives other men and women who have fallen victim to revenge porn the courage to seek justice and most importantly show them that they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.”
