The rules for design are the same as for life: the little things can make all the difference. A well-stocked, beautiful coffee corner is one such touch. When properly designed, these small spaces can upgrade both your design and your experience each morning. No one knows this better than Ayesha Curry.

The cookbook author, entrepreneur, and mom of four sticks to a busy schedule where little moments are an essential reprieve. In the home she shares with her husband, NBA player Stephen Curry, her stylish cafe corner is one such space for solace. 'For me, my coffee routine at home is a form of self-care. I love the ritual of it and adapting the flavors to the season and my mood,' Curry tells Homes & Gardens exclusively.

How does Ayesha Curry carve out a coffee nook that is out of the ordinary? It starts with the most beautiful dishware. She states: 'Because it is something special for me, the presentation also matters! I love that our Edgewater mugs are functional, but they’re so beautiful that they can be little pieces of art on open shelving or hanging on hooks. Each ceramic piece is handmade, so they’re all unique. It makes that morning cup of coffee feel like something special.'

Furthermore, Curry emphasizes the importance of coffee bar organization. She states: 'My coffee corner at home is my little sanctuary. I have my mugs lined up (right now it’s the color Chai which feels so festive for fall) along with my coffee beans and stirrers.' This well-coordinated placement helps to keep the coffee station a relaxing presence, rather than becoming a source of more clutter.

Having everything you love in your coffee at your disposal is another essential element of elevating your coffee bar. For Curry, that's a sweetener. She tells Homes & Gardens: 'I also like to make a big batch of a flavored simple syrup and keep that in a glass bottle next to my coffee machine. I think people would be surprised by how easy it is to make! It’s just dissolving sugar in water on the stove and steeping whatever ingredients you’d like to infuse flavor. A few vanilla pods are great, but another combination I love is fresh ginger and coconut flakes. It’s so delicious, we put it on the menu at the café.' Figuring out simple ways to stock what you love in your home will make sure you never go without.
