Stephen A. Smith defends Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers on ESPN

According to ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, there is nothing to prove for Aaron Rodgers. Smith came to the defense of Rodgers during an ESPN segment this week.

The question on ESPN was ‘Which AFC East QB Has the Most To Prove?’

Smith defended Rodgers following Randy Scott saying that the Jets quarterback had the most to prove out of the AFC East trio that also included Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa.

When Rodgers was brought up by Scott as the choice (largely due to the injury last year and Rodgers’ decline in production in 2022), Smith would have none of it.

“So multiple-time league MVP and Super Bowl champion has to prove?” Smith said on the ESPN show ‘First Take.

“Because you know what, he’s been cleansing his body and going on vacation trips…and isolating himself in darkness for a few days. So he has to prove himself, right?”

Rodgers has won four MVP awards and was a Super Bowl MVP.
