Steph McGovern is best known as the host of Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4, though she found fame as a presenter on BBC Breakfast and being a key part of the Watchdog team.
Steph, who was raised in North Yorkshire, was just nineteen when she was named ‘Young Engineer for Britain’ but her career has since taken a different path and today she is an award-winning journalist and TV personality.
The 39-year-old presenter announced in July 2019 that she was expecting her first child, however, much of her family life including her long term partner remains a mystery.

Who is Steph McGovern’s mystery partner?
The former BBC Breakfast host has always kept her relationship private with her mystery girlfriend who she now shares a child with, but who is she? While we may not know the name of Steph’s partner, it has been revealed that she is a TV executive at the BBC.
When their pregnancy was announced in 2019 a source told The Sun how excited Steph and her partner were.
The source said: “Steph and her girlfriend are absolutely thrilled. Everyone at the Beeb is delighted too, she is one of the most popular faces on and off the red sofa. But she won’t be doing any magazine shoots any time soon – she values her privacy too much.”
Steph announced she had given birth to her daughter in November 2020 via an Instagram post. She penned: “Well hello world, just surfaced to let you know that we now have a daughter!
“Born on Monday morning just as @BBCBreakfast was wrapping up. We’re all fine and dandy. Just getting used to the eau de sick/poo I am now regularly wearing. #babylife.”
And while she shared the happy news online, Steph has always been very clear on her boundaries with social media and doesn't share any pictures of her daughter or partner nor their names.
She said: “My rule is, I never put my family on there – and when I say family, I mean my partner and my daughter, I haven’t even shared my little girl’s name or any pictures of her, because I want it to be her choice when she’s older, whether she wants to put herself out there or not.”
McGovern explains. “And the same with my partner, she’s not in the public eye and we just keep that separate and that’s really healthy for us because no one’s then making an opinion about our family life. If they have an opinion, it’s about me – and that’s fine because I’ve chosen to put myself out there.”
