Steph Curry voices frustrations after Warriors double-overtime loss

The Golden State Warriors have now dropped two games in a row. Their double-overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday was a heartbreaker and followed a similar storyline to the Golden State’s previous loss to the Sacramento Kings.

When speaking to the media after the game, Steph Curry aired his frustrations. The superstar guard shared his belief that Golden State played well enough to secure a win over LeBron James and the Lakers, yet somehow found themselves staring down the barrel of another closely fought defeat.

“Our whole season, we’ve had some tough breaks,” Curry said. “Some self-inflicted wounds. Some games that obviously, we should have won. There’s disappointment walking off the floor. Like tonight is a night where you feel like you played well enough to win, almost like the Sacramento game. Again, we have nothing to show for it. We fought the whole way. Stayed in it, even when things weren’t going our way. Gave ourselves an opportunity. … It just shows that we really want it. We’re playing with a little bit of desperation.”

The Warriors have struggled to find consistency this season. They’re losing games they would have won in previous seasons. However, with the level of fight and determination they’re showing on the floor, it feels like a run of wins is right around the corner. Everybody appears to be pulling in the same direction and looks eager to figure things out.

Still, there must be a sense of urgency within the locker room. We’re over the halfway point of the season. If Golden State is going to qualify for the playoffs and make a push for a deep postseason run, it needs to start stacking wins sooner rather than later.
