Steph Curry remains a top-5 point guard in latest rankings

Steph Curry has been among the best point guards in the NBA for over a decade. The Golden State Warriors sharpshooter has been at the forefront of the league’s shift toward pace and space offense. As such, Curry has widely been seen as a top-5 guard throughout the majority of his tenure in the league.

In their latest player rankings, which focused on point guards, HoopsHype has Steph Curry as the second-best ball-handler in the NBA, with only Luka Doncic finishing ahead of him. HoopsHype also noted how Steph Curry projects to be the highest-paid point guard in the NBA next season.

“Despite being fully in his mid-30s already, Warriors lead guard Stephen Curry is still one of the best players in basketball, an elite scorer from the outside (as well as from around the basket), a good rebounder for his position and a solid playmaker,” HoopsHype’s Frank Urbina wrote. “Despite launching so many high-difficulty shot attempts nightly, Curry still shot nearly 50 percent from the floor last season, an underrated feat in what was a 2nd Team All-NBA season for the Golden State legend.”

Despite having one of the best point guards in the world on their roster, the Warriors have ensured their ball-handling rotation is beyond reproach, as they acquired veteran guards Chris Paul and Cory Joseph to begin the 2023 offseason. Although, Golden State did need to part with upcoming guard Jordan Poole, who helped the team win a championship in 2022.

Nevertheless, Curry will continue to be the focal point of the Warriors’ offense as they look toward him to lead another championship charge.
