SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry is scheduled to get an MRI on his left leg after he exited Saturday’s 119-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Curry was guarding a driving McKinley Wright IV when the two appeared to bang knees at the 2:01 mark of the third quarter. Curry, who was whistled for the foul, hobbled away from McKinley. The Warriors subsequently called a timeout to check in on the All-Star guard. Warriors head trainer Rick Celebrini was seen examining Curry’s left leg.
After further discussion, Curry limped to the locker room with Celebrini following and wouldn’t return to the game. He was officially ruled out with a lower left leg injury in the fourth quarter.
Initial X-rays of Curry’s leg were negative but he’s expected to undergo additional tests Sunday.
“Anytime a guy’s gonna get an MRI, there’s a concern level for sure,” coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ll just have to wait and see the results.”
Curry, who will turn 35 next month, had 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting in 26 minutes. He also had seven assists and six rebounds.
The injury comes two days after Curry hurt his left leg in the second half of the Warriors’ loss to the Denver Nuggets. Curry was listed on the team’s injury report ahead of Saturday’s game with a lower left leg contusion, but was cleared to play.
Curry has already missed 11 games with a partially dislocated shoulder. The Warriors are 7-8 without Curry this season.
Golden State was up 20 points when Curry went down. The Mavericks, who were without star guard Luka Doncic (bruised right heel), pulled within five with 1:28 left in the fourth after Tim Hardaway Jr. knocked down a 3. But that would be the closest Dallas would get.
Klay Thompson (14 points) sank two free throws with 11 seconds left to end the night with 14 points.
Kerr doesn’t have an update on Curry beyond what we already know. He’ll get an MRI tomorrow.

Draymond Green added 17 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Warriors (27-26).
The Mavs (28-26) were paced by Spencer Dinwiddie's 25 points.
