Joe Montana to Jerry Rice.
Troy Aikman to Michael Irvin.
Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison.
Sam Darnold to DJ Moore . . . ?
In the third quarter of last night’s battle against the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry linked up with teammate Draymond Green on a long pass for a layup. After the eventual 119-111 win, the Carolina Panthers superfan (and you really have to be a Carolina Panthers superfan to make this type of reference) compared the connection to that of Sam Darnold and DJ Moore’s.

Stephen Curry said his Hail Mary pass to Draymond Green was "like a classic Sam Darnold to D.J. Moore connection. Nobody's ever said that ever."

Well, to his credit, Steph is certainly right about that. Who has ever willingly claimed to be one half of the Darnold-Moore duo?
But, to Darnold and Moore’s credit, they did have one heck of a rapport last Sunday. Carolina’s 23-10 victory over the Denver Broncos saw Darnold complete 11 of his 19 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown—with four of those balls, 103 of those yards and the score finding Moore.
So, in case you hear anyone try to assume the roles of No. 14 and No. 2, just remember that No. 30 did it first.
