We're not exactly sure how the whole trend started, but that doesn't really matter. What matters is the fact that we're treated to some bridal eye candy at almost every presentation. The Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall 2024 wedding looks are a great source of inspiration for brides-to-be or anyone fantasizing about their nuptials.
We're calling them "looks" because they're not all dresses. Jean Paul Gaultier offered up a hybrid dress-jumpsuit creation complete with a cut-out back. The minimal sandals and geometric earring provide balance. Zuhair Murad debuted a dramatically beaded and somewhat see-through suit. It's more of an off-white and not exactly designed for a typical church ceremony, but for more daring brides, it's a real showstopper.
Princess gowns more your speed? As usual, Elie Saab has got your back. Although the luxury house opted for a more golden palette, which is totally fitting for a member of a royal family. Georges Hobeika introduced two ballgowns that were decidedly modern. One is all about grand texture thanks to a bouquet of white flowers. The other relies on 3-D accents to give off an almost AI effect.
It's worth calling out the fact that Courrèges' Nicolas Di Felice served as this season's guest designer for Gaultier. Which is why many of the collection's offerings boast plenty of trendy details. Like having a model slip her hand into one of the skirts, which was a striking style hack that featured prominently in the brand's Fall 2024 ready-to-wear show. Although there are still hints of Gaultier, including a nod to the legendary designer's predisposition to corsets. Some may consider corsets too risqué for a wedding, but it's not a hard-and-fast rule or anything.
