Former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is “(a)mong the candidates being considered for the (Atlanta) Hawks’ coaching vacancy,” according to Substack’s Marc Stein. The Hawks recently parted ways with head coach Nate McMillan after a series of moves to improve the roster around point guard Trae Young has failed to produce more than average results.
With Boston having evidently parted ways with the long-suspended Udoka after lifting the interim tag from Joe Mazzulla, Udoka is a coaching free agent.
And while lingering concerns regarding the scandal leading to his suspension may affect the contract of the former Boston head coach, it seems probable he will land another head coaching job in the league given his success with the Celtics.

As Stein notes, however, former Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder is the only candidate the ball club has publicly mentioned, presumably given his unemployed status will not undercut a team gearing up for the stretch run.
