Stefon Diggs wore a wool sheath over his head before Bengals-Bills and NFL fans had Batman jokes

If the Buffalo Bills are to advance to their second AFC title game in three years, they’ll have to lean on their best players to deliver outstanding performances. For example, Josh Allen will have to limit his propensity for turnovers. And his top target, Stefon Diggs, will have to run amok through the Cincinnati Bengals’ secondary.

Before Bills-Bengals kicked off on Sunday afternoon, Diggs clearly wasn’t afraid of delivering his end of the bargain. Based on his outfit from the pre-game tunnel, he didn’t appear to be afraid of anything after “escaping Arkham Asylum” for this divisional-round matchup. (Well, except bats.)

That’s because a wool sheath the star Buffalo receiver wore over his head was reminiscent of Scarecrow — one of the comic book hero Batman’s famous archenemies:

I mean, come on. Diggs is practically screaming, “You look like someone who takes themselves too seriously,” with this outfit.

Bettors understandably expected big things from Dr. Jonathan Crane, er, Diggs, as Buffalo prepared to try and advance to Championship Sunday. His pre-game over and under was a robust 80.5 receiving yards, which paints the picture of a playmaker ready to tear apart Cincinnati defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s stout unit.

Only time would tell whether Diggs would actually be a terrifying menace to the people of Southwestern Ohio.

NFL fans had so many Batman jokes about Diggs' pre-game outfit before Bills-Bengals
