Stefon Diggs seemed to play along with (unlikely) rumors he may reunite with Cowboys’ brother Trevon

We just got finished being entertained by the Kelce brothers during all the hoopla surrounding Super Bowl 57. Another talented and famous pair of NFL brothers seems to want us to keep them in mind.

Around a month ago, the Dallas Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs appeared on the Blogging The Boys podcast. The Pro Bowler would stump hard for his older sibling, the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs, to come and join the Cowboys.

Here’s what the younger Diggs had to say in a key sequence:

“We need Cowboys Nation to go and help and tweet to get bro here. We need everyone to know. We need to put it on notice that we need to get bro to Dallas.”

Roughly a week later, Trevon would post a photo edit of Stefon wearing the Cowboys’ uniform in an Instagram story:

Naturally, with Trevon even discussing the possibility of playing with his brother in Dallas, this drove speculation (no matter how unlikely) absolutely wild. And when Stefon would later post a cryptic tweet about “business” on his Twitter — which isn’t necessarily out of the ordinary for the receiver — he only fanned the flames.

I want to stress: there does not appear to have been a relevant conversation behind the scenes about the Diggs Bros. reuniting in Dallas (or Buffalo). The entire discussion seems to have initially been driven by Trevon just talking about it.

Otherwise, let’s look at a tale of the tape:

  1. Why would the Bills trade their best and one of their only reliable playmakers in the middle of a Super Bowl chase with Josh Allen?
  2. How would the Cowboys — who currently have just over $16 million in salary cap space, per Over The Cap — even fit Stefon Diggs into their books?
  3. Why would the Bills trade their best and one of their only reliable playmakers in the middle of a Super Bowl chase with Josh Allen? (For emphasis.)

That didn’t stop Stefon from apparently pouring some gas on this possibility. During a Mar. 9, 2023, appearance on The Shop podcast, Stefon was asked about his thoughts on matching up against his defender brother next season. The Bills are scheduled to play the Cowboys at home.

Before saying anything else, Stefon threw in a quick “that’s what’s on the schedule right now.”

The segment starts around 2:30 in this video:

Hmmm.

Those are some cryptic comments from Stefon!

Is he referencing the Bills and Cowboys potentially matching up in Super Bowl 58 … as in another game on the schedule? Or is he talking about joining up with his sibling in Buffalo or Dallas? It’s impossible to tell, and that’s why the commitment to the bit is so brilliant.

Whatever does happen with the Diggs brothers next: something tells me we’ll see them a lot more in the spotlight very soon.
