Steelers work out FA punter Brad Wing

Sunday’s performance by Pittsburgh Steelers punter Pressley Harvin III was forgettable. This has prompted the Steelers to perhaps begin the search for his replacement. On Thursday the Steelers hosted free-agent punter Brad Wing for a visit.

Wing hasn’t played in the NFL since 2017. He lost his way due to substance abuse issues but is currently trying to rebuild his career. Wing was the Steelers starting punter way back in 2014. He logged 61 punts and averaged 43.7 yards per punt. For his career, he averages 44.7 yards per punt. For comparison, Harvin’s career average per punt is 43.5 yards per punt.

There’s been no word if the Steelers might be interested in bringing Braden Mann back in. He was the Steelers other punter throughout training camp and the preseason and performed well. On Sunday, Harvin punted six times and averaged 42.3 yards per punt.
