Despite the fact that no one is giving the Pittsburgh Steelers a chance to beat the Baltimore Ravens this week, the team is preparing as if they can bounce back from last week’s loss. Here are our Steelers keys to victory.
Establish the run game
If the Steelers want to help out an injured Kenny Pickett, they must establish the run. This will keep drives alive, win on possession downs and help the defense stay rested.
Pass rush under control
The key to pressuring Lamar Jackson is to come off the edges under control and don’t let him break contain. Force Jackson to throw it away rather than break the pocket and run.
Tackle the route
Whether it is wide receiver Zay Flowers or tight end Mark Andrews, the Steelers must do a better job in their fundamentals in tackling the route, rushing to the football and never giving up on a play because you assume your teammate made it.
Get the tight ends involved
Even with Pat Freiermuth out, the Steelers shouldn’t give up on throwing to the tight ends. Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward can be weapons on offense and should get some great mismatches with wide receiver George Pickens drawing so much attention.
