One of the players we highlighted as a trade option for the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the week was former Chicago Bears defensive end Robert Quinn. Quinn is an elite pass rusher who had 18.5 sacks in 2021. But instead of making a trade for Quinn, the Philadelphia Eagles did instead, meaning the Steelers will have to face off with an even more potent Philly defense on Sunday.
The Eagles have one of the best defensive lines in the league and adding Quinn to the mix is going to push the Steelers offensive line to its absolute limits. The Steelers defense has allowed 15 sacks in seven games which is a pretty reasonable number given this group’s struggles. Meanwhile, the Eagles have sacked the quarterback 17 times without Quinn in the lineup.
The NFL trade deadline is November 1 and it remains to be seen if the Steelers are going to make a move to add talent to try and remain competitive for the second half of the season or if they will trade off some players and accumulated draft picks for the future.
