Earlier in the week, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced defensive tackle Cam Heyward was headed to the IR after surgery to repair his torn groin. The team also said they would be without wide receiver Diontae Johnson will miss at least this week’s game with a hamstring injury.
But that’s it, right? I mean the Cleveland Browns are coming to town and the team needs everyone else healthy. But this doesn’t appear to be the case based on the Steelers Friday practice report. Here’s the rundown.
RB Anthony McFarland - DNP
McFarland, the team’s primary kick returner and No. 3 running back missed Friday’s practice with a knee injury.
DL Larry Ogunjobi - DNP
After being limited on Thursday, Ogunjobi sat out Friday’s practice with his foot injury.
G James Daniels - FULL
Daniels was a full participant on Friday despite his ankle injury.
G Isaac Seumalo - DNP
Seumalo got a veteran’s day off on Friday.
WR Diontae Johnson - DNP
As expected, Johnson’s hamstring injury has him sidelined and he won’t play this week.
OT Chuks Okorafor - LIMITED
Okorafor practiced on a limited basis but no word if he’s out of the concussion protocol.
TE Pat Freiermuth - FULL
Freiermuth was able to practice fully after suffering a chest injury on Sunday.
