In the Pittsburgh Steelers second preseason game, they will square off with the Buffalo Bills and get a big test. According to Bills head coach Sean McDermott, he plans to play his starters on both sides of the ball until midway through the second quarter.
This creates an interesting situation for the Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin. Tomlin has been non-committal about how long the starters will play this week but this could change up his strategy. Tomlin might want to leave his own starters in for the duration and have them go toe-to-toe with the Bills and help evaluate the projected starting lineup.
Or he could flip it the other way completely. Pull his starters a little sooner than scheduled and give many of his backups those important reps against another starting lineup other than the Steelers.
Pittsburgh and Buffalo square off at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday, August 19.
