According to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin via NFL reporter Mike Garafolo, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is currently in the concussion protocol. Fitzpatrick apparently suffered the concussion in Thursday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Fitzpatrick has gotten off to a tremendous start this season with two interceptions in three games, 24 total tackles and one defensive touchdown. The Steelers cannot afford to lose Fitzpatrick for this week’s game against the New York Jets.
If Fitzpatrick cannot play on Sunday, the most logical replacement is Tre Norwood next to Terrell Edmunds. Norwood is in his second season out of the University of Oklahoma.
#Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick is in the concussion protocol, according to Mike Tomlin. Says Fitzpatrick got assessed after the game against the #Browns.
