On Thursday night at the NFL Honors, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was named AP Offensive Rookie of the year. And rightfully so. Chase was practically unstoppable and finished the season with 81 receptions for 1,455 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.
The other two nominees for the award were New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
But Pittsburgh Steelers running back was noticeably absent. This wasn’t about winning this award, it was all about Chase. But you would have thought the guy who finished 4th in the NFL in rushing in his rookie season might get some consideration.
The voters didn’t view the guy who carried much of the Steelers offense to the tune of 307 rushes and 74 more receptions and led the league in total touches as one of the three best rookies last season. Harris also had 10 total touchdowns and 0 fumbles in 381 touches.
