A quarterback competition is possibly on the horizon for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. It’s tough to take Mike Tomlin‘s word for it because A.) The 2023-24 NFL season just ended; weeks, if not months, away from anything coming together, and B.) We all know how the last “quarterback competition” turned out.
But Tomlin did say in his season-end press conference that a quarterback will be brought in to compete with Kenny Pickett this offseason (even if Arthur Smith contradicted that statement).
Unfortunately, the crop of free-agent quarterbacks is thin (and the top ones are not realistic cap-wise), and some will be re-signed by their current team. One of those set to test free agency is Mason Rudolph, who reportedly wants a fresh start elsewhere.
On the heels of the Steelers and Mitch Trubisky parting ways, here are the 31 quarterbacks potentially hitting the free-agent market next month.
