What a difference a month makes. In February, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room was comprised of Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph.
After the overhaul, it’s Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. It’s been a wild turn of events.
Who knows what Wilson knew about the Steelers’ plans to trade for Fields, but nevertheless, he’s amped.
“Let’s get it @justnfields! QB room bout to be (fire emojis),” Wilson posted on X.
Wilson has to be relieved he’s no longer the lone quarterback on Pittsburgh’s roster. And no matter how Fields truly feels about being traded from Chicago, he couldn’t be in a better situation. After being burned by the Chicago fire, he’ll have an opportunity to learn behind a veteran Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
Fields is a competitor and no question disappointed with how his first two seasons played out, but he gets a fresh start in a far better situation for a young quarterback.
Let’s get it @justnfields!
