Given his track record in interstate football games, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson likes his chances on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
Wilson has no NFL interstate experience because the Seattle Seahawks did not have a Washington state rival, but his winning streak extends back to high school and college. He said, “I win ’em all.” Further proof of that statement is Wilson’s NC State Wolfpack teams went 4-0 in his career against UNC.

“I win ‘em all. … In college, NC State vs. UNC, that was a big one. We won those.”

He welcomes the challenge posed by the Philadelphia Eagles. Wilson did not give the Eagles bulletin board material. Instead, he touted the Steelers coaching staff for getting the team ready for a big challenge. The Eagles are a few years removed from the Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. The team also won a Super Bowl in 2018. He mentioned the Eagles’ formidable running game with NFL MVP candidate Saquon Barkley.
“Pennsylvania State Championship” History
With the Seahawks, Russell Wilson was undefeated (6-0) against the Philadelphia Eagles. Four of those wins happened in front of the hostile Philadelphia fans at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have not won a game in Philadelphia since 1965.
Regardless of the location, the Eagles have owned the head-to-head matchup with a 49-29-3 record in 81 games including one postseason matchup.
Are Wilson’s undefeated record and a solid Steelers team good enough to get over this nearly 60-year drought?
Russell Wilson And The Steelers Surprised Many This Season
Few predicted that the Pittsburgh Steelers would be 10-3 and the AFC North’s first place team. The 8-5 Ravens were the preseason favorite.
Beating the Eagles in Philadelphia would be a statement win for this Steelers team and the resurging Russell Wilson. Many scoffed at the Steelers for adding Wilson and Justin Fields to the roster in 2024, but the tandem have worked well together and are getting results.
