Shortly after the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday, quarterback Mason Rudolph spoke to the media after the game and his future. As he has been for the last month, Rudolph was honest, professional and did all he could to uplift his teammates over worrying about himself.
Having said that, Rudolph wasn’t in a position to talk about whether he would be back next season.
“I have no idea what is going to happen,” Rudolph said. “None of us in (the locker room) know what’s going to happen tomorrow. I’m still thinking about the game and the loss and it hurts and it stings. I love the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rudolph is set to hit free agency and could be in demand. Last offseason, Rudolph tested the free-agent waters but after no interest, returned to the Steelers in mid-May. This offseason could look very different after a strong month of work to help get the Steelers into the playoffs.
