Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has quickly established himself as the comeback kid. On Thursday night, Pickett led the Steelers to yet another comeback win, this time against the Tennessee Titans. That was the sixth comeback victory in his short career, the most of any quarterback in the NFL since 2022.
But Pickett acknowledged part of the reason the team had to come back was mistakes he made early in the game.
“I missed too many throws early,” Pickett told Prime Video sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung after the game. “I’m pissed off at myself. Sorry, excuse my language. But I think we picked up the consistency in the drives. We were moving the ball really well.”
The Steelers had 100 percent scoring efficiency, finding pay dirt on two of their four red zone opportunities.
But Pittsburgh can’t continue settling for three, especially as competition stiffens in November and December, and expect to win games.
“We had a lot of red zone opportunities,” Pickett continued. “We had one down here [on the throw to George Pickens] I wish we hit on. But we’ll keep getting better. And the most important thing is we got the W.”
After just two divisional games in the first eight games of the season, the Steelers face four in the final nine games, including two against the resurgent Cincinnati Bengals.
