According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, the experiment last week of playing rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett will continue for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rapoport is reporting that Pickett will be named the starting quarterback going forward and Mitch Trubisky will be relegated to backup for the remainder of the season.
Pickett came off the bench last week with no hint he was going to play and scored two rushing touchdowns in the second half and put the Steelers in a position to beat the New York Jets. Pickett was also credited with three interceptions, none of which were bad throws by him.
