Steelers opt for offensive playmaker in new mock draft

We have already talked about our ultimate free agent wishlist for the Pittsburgh Steelers. At the top of that list is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. If there’s a player for the Steelers to back up the Brinks truck for this offseason it is him.

Having said that, we know how the Steelers front office operates and paying a massive free-agent deal to any street free agent is a longshot. So while adding a playmaking wide receiver is a top priority it is more likely it will happen via the 2025 NFL draft.

This is the approach the Pro Football Network took with their new mock draft. With the No. 25 overall pick, they have the Steelers selecting Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond. Here’s what they had to say about the pick.

Isaiah Bond is arguably the most gifted route runner and separator in the class. However, something has been going on in Austin with him that stinks to high heaven. He’s reportedly battled an ankle injury all season, but the stink goes beyond that.

Bond has been one of our favorite prospects for the entire season. His game reminds us a lot of Antonio Brown in terms of his route running and style of play. We don’t know exactly what went wrong at Texas last season but we think once the offseason gets going and his ankle is healed, he’s going to really wow teams.
