According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers search for a second long snapper continues. The team already has Christian Kuntz as the starter but is still searching for another guy for training camp. The latest option, according to Wilson is former XFL long snapper Antonio Ortiz.
Ortiz played his college football at TCU where he started all 44 games over four seasons. Ortiz was working as a long snapping instructor before joining the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. The Renegades won the XFL championship.
The Steelers also brought in former Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle to its rookie minicamp to try out a potential position change to long snapper. Boyle has been a tight end since 2015 but the Steelers tried him out in the new position.
