Steelers HC Mike Tomlin shares graphic analysis of Jaylen Warren’s effort

One of the best stories of the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason was the emergence of undrafted rookie running back Jaylen Warren. Warren made his NFL debut on Sunday and while the boxscore didn’t show Warren’s impact on the game, if you go back and put on the film, you see some really good things.

Head coach Mike Tomlin was asked on Tuesday about how Warren did coming in for Najee Harris and he gave the most Tomlin answer he could.

“He didn’t urinate down his leg and that’s a great place to begin,” Tomlin said.

That’s certainly one way to describe it.

Warren only got seven yards on three carries but threw three big blocks that really stood out, showing he’s got a very good understanding of what it takes to be a complete running back in the NFL. If Harris’ foot injury won’t let him go on Sunday against the New England Patriots, Warren could see a heavy workload and we will get a must better picture of just how effective he can be.
