One especially profound thing Tomlin said was that “you can’t do ordinary stuff and expect unique results.” This is an interesting take and really puts the onus back on himself and his coaches as well as the players. Innovation is the key to continued development and growth in the NFL and Tomlin has been guilty of not moving forward as quickly as the rest of the league.
Pittsburgh is going to need maximum effort from everyone on the staff to move forward in a highly-competitive AFC now that Ben Roethlisberger has retired. Tomlin’s streak of non-losing seasons is in jeopardy without some extraordinary stuff.
