On Friday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that quarterback Mason Rudolph will start this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. There was a thought that Kenny Pickett could return to the starting lineup this week but was limited this week in practice.
This will be Rudolph’s second straight start in place of Pickett. It will also be Pickett’s fourth straight game he will miss as he continues to recover from ankle surgery. Mitch Trubisky started the first two games Pickett missed but failed to do anything with the offense.
Rudolph gave the Steelers offense a real spark last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. His 290 passing yards and two touchdowns was the best offensive output of the season for the Steelers passing game. Pittsburgh must win the final two games of the season and get help if they want to sneak into the playoffs and at this point you have to think that Rudolph gives the Steelers their best shot.
