Steelers HC fails to acknowledge in-fighting on defense

After the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day, multiple members of the Steelers defense spoke publicly and aired their dirty laundry about lack of effort by unnamed teammates. It wasn’t a great look for the team but many hoped it might spark some action by the players and coaching staff.

Clearly, that did not happen.

Head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media on Monday and when he was asked if he addressed the defense about the public airing of grievances at all. Tomlin said he did not and then offered up the most Tomlin answer he could.

“They bicker because they care,” Tomlin suggested.

This is the best he could do just days away from the biggest game of the season. If the Steelers defense struggles against the Bengals on Saturday night, we will revisit Tomlin’s lack of action on this matter and wonder if he could have done more.
