When the Pittsburgh Steelers put out their Tuesday practice report, one name we expected to see with a DNP was defensive tackle Cam Heyward. Typically on the first day of the week, Heyward among others takes a vets day off.
But this week, Heyward chose to practice on Tuesday, albeit limited due to a groin injury ahead of Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts as a show of leadership on a team in desperate need of some. In fact, no Steelers were designated with a rest day on Tuesday.
The Steelers have come under heavy scrutiny the last two weeks after going from 7-4 to 7-6 in ugly fashion. Heyward has been great since coming back from IR but injuries at other positions have really hurt this defense.
