There’s never been a team to take more criticism despite being 6-3 than this year’s version of the Pittsburgh Steelers. On some level, being critical of the Steelers offense is deserved. But if you want to say the Steelers wins are just smoke and mirrors, don’t let defensive tackle Cam Heyward hear you. He’s got some not-so-kind words for you about it.
“Who are they judging,” Heyward asked. They’re not in this. Smoke and mirrors? Screw you. We work too hard for this. These guys dedicate their lives, and we try to be a good defense. Smoke and mirrors, I think that’s a cloud of smoke.”

The Steelers have used splash plays on both sides of the ball to help overcome a lack of consistency and slow starts. It isn’t always pretty but for the most part, it has been effective. The Steelers have been outgained in every game this season and for the season have been outscored despite being 6-3. We can’t blame Heyward for being tired of hearing about it while the team is winning.
