When it comes to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, there is a common thread that runs through his players, past and present. He is universally endorsed as a motivator and leader of men.
This is an opinion strongly supported by defensive tackle Cam Heyward. In an interview with NFL reporter Dave Dameshek and just gushed about Tomlin and his ability to motivate his players.
“He finds a way to motivate each player in a completely different way and that is not an easy job,” Heyward said. “It requires a lot of honesty. His players love that. His coaches love that. We are just very fortunate to have a coach like that.”
Tomlin draws a ton of criticism from the fans for lack of production and the current playoff win drought but it’s clear he has the support of his players and the ownership. Win or lose, Tomlin’s seat is staying cool in Pittsburgh as long as he’s turning out guys like Heyward.
