Steelers could be among teams Raiders ‘reaching out’ to in Davante Adams trade

As was the entire media and fan focus of the offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a wide receiver away from putting an explosive offense on the field.

Last game’s fumble aside, George Pickens is doing all he can by putting the pass-catching game on his shoulders, but Van Jefferson has contributed nothing.

The Steelers absolutely cannot go through the rest of the 2024 season without a top-producing wideout if they want to be competitive down the stretch.

Vinny Bonsignore, Raiders beat writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, tweeted this tidbit Tuesday afternoon:

More on this to come: A league source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the Raiders are growing open to the idea of trading Davante Adams. The source said the club has begun reaching out to teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver.

While Bonsignore did not divulge which teams the Raiders are contacting for trade talks, Pittsburgh has to be among them. The main concern is that the Steelers have not shown the willingness to part with draft picks or the financial package required to gain top talent.

The Steelers aren’t the only team with needs at wide receiver. The Kansas City Chiefs likely lost their No. 1 receiver, Rashee Rice, for the season. If Adams has a choice, the Super Bowl-champion Chiefs are far more tempting.
