On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced the signing of free-agent inside linebacker Kwon Alexander. The news of the two sides agreeing to terms was first reported on Saturday by ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor.
Alexander worked out for the Steelers back in May and we wondered if the team would sign him prior to the start of training camp. Alexander joins Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcomb, Mark Robinson and Tanner Muse in a very crowded inside linebacker room.
The key to Alexander’s role on the team will be his health. He’s struggled to stay healthy for much of his career with last season being the first year he played a full season since 2016. He shouldn’t be asked to play a ton of snaps which will maximize his opportunities in this defense.
We have signed LB Kwon Alexander to a one-year contract. @BordasLaw
