Steelers agree to terms with free-agent LB Kwon Alexander

When Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan spoke to the media this week, he hinted that if a situation presented itself at inside linebacker the team could make a move. According to ESPN NFL writer Brooke Pryor, the situation did present itself and the Steelers are adding free-agent linebacker Kwon Alexander on a one-year contract.

The Steelers had already added Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcombe and Tanner Muse in free agency this offseason. This is after releasing Myles Jack and losing Robert Spillane and Devin Bush in free agency.

Alexander could end up being much more than just a depth player in this scheme. The biggest knock on Alexander during his time in the league has been his healthy. Alexander played a full 17 games last season for the New York Jets, his first full season since 2016. He was listed as a starter in 12 games but was more of a rotational player as he finished with 69 total tackles.
