The Pittsburgh Steelers are hiring retired New York Giants linebacker Aaron Curry as a defensive assistant. He will replace Brian Flores, who joined the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, as the team’s linebackers coach.
Curry, who was a first-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, signed with the Giants in May of 2013. However, he was released as a part of early cuts that August and announced his retirement from the NFL just three days later.

In 2019, Curry was hired by the Seahawks. He spent his first season serving as a coaching assistant and the previous two years serving as a defensive assistant.
Over the course of his playing career, Curry appeared in 48 games (39 starts) and recorded 203 tackles (18 for a loss), 19 QB hits, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 12 passes defensed.
