'Stay calm' - Luke Ayling sends message to Leeds United supporters as winless run continues

Luke Ayling has called for "calm" after Leeds United plummeted into the relegation zone following a fourth straight loss against Fulham on Sunday.

The defeat coupled with 4-0 victories for Aston Villa and Leicester City over Brentford and Wolves respectively has left them two points adrift of safety.

Jesse Marsch is facing serious questions from supporters after Leeds' latest malaise but Ayling believes it's too early in the season to panic.

"We're starting games well and then we are just not taking our chances. That is a worry but we can't sit around feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to pick ourselves up and go again," Ayling told the media after the game.

"Stay calm, I know it's hard to say that but we're only 10 or 11 games into the season. We've been in a lot worse positions, like last year we were going into the last two games in the bottom three.

"There's still a long way to go so just stay calm and stay with us if they can. They turn out every game so we've got to go out on the pitch and show them we can do it."

Ayling replaced Rasmus Kristensen to make his first start of the season as Marsch made six changes to the starting XI that lost 2-0 in Leicester on Thursday.

Rodrigo put Leeds ahead inside 20 minutes, but Aleksandar Mitrovic levelled proceedings with a near post header six minutes later.

Bobby Decordova-Reid fired Fulham into the lead in the 74th minute and Willian doubled their advantage in the final 10 minutes.

Crysencio Summerville reduced the deficit with his first goal for Leeds but it merely proved to be a consolation as the Whites extended their winless run to eight games.
