New Delhi: The Congress has extended its best wishes to Delhi CM-designate Rekha Gupta and expressed hope that she would stay away from the 'divisive politics' and fulfill the election promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav said, "We hope she will stay away from divisive politics, fulfill all her electoral promises, and work in the interest of the people of Delhi."
BJP legislator Rekha Gupta was elected as the leader of the legislative party on Wednesday night. Following a unanimous decision at the Delhi BJP office in the presence of central observers, she staked her claim to form the government.
