Stavros Flatley respond to split rumours with hilarious video ahead of BGT final

Stavros Flatley have responded to rumours that they are splitting up after the Britain's Got Talent: The Champions final, by posting a hilarious video on Instagram .

Lagi Demetriou, 23, had previously announced that the performance on Saturday night would be his last with dad Demi, 51, with the view of concentrating on his career as a barber.

He has now joined his father in a video response to the news of the split, in which Demi locks himself in the Stavros Flatley museum, which doubles as a toilet in Lagi's barber shop.

Demi refuses to come out of the loo until Lagi can confirm that the duo were not splitting for good.

Lagi is sat outside the toilet and reassures his father: "We're not splitting up man."

Demi shouts from behind the closed door: "I'm staying here until you tell me for sure we're not splitting up.

Lagi replies again: "We are not splitting up dad, I have to see you later when we get home."

Demi is finally persuaded to emerge from the khazi to the tune of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger, as he embraces Rocky and holds his hands up in triumph.

As Demi exclaims over and over that "we're not splitting up," he walks through the barbers and out of the front door into the sun-bathed street, to carry on his triumphant walk.

Meanwhile, Lagi is seen putting his head in his hands, as Demi's response becomes increasingly more cringeworthy.

The video comes after Lagi had told The Sun: "We’ve done this for 10 years for a joke.

Demi will continue with his act (ITV)

“We’ve done so many amazing things but what is there left to do? We’ve done the Royal Variety, we’ve played in China, Monaco - everywhere."

He indicated that his 17-year-old cousin would be taking on the role in the act, which exploded on to TV screens in 2009 with a hilarious outtake on Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance routine.

They first appeared in the 2009 series, which also saw the emergence of Susan Boyle and was won by acclaimed dance act, Diversity.

Their prospective swansong performance has put them among the favourites to win the BGT Champions series.
