With the Los Angeles Lakers on the brink of total disaster, as they now sit in 11th place in the Western Conference and out of the play-in tournament picture, they are continuing to deal with the injury woes that have plagued them all season.
LeBron James, who missed yesterday’s blowout loss to the Dallas Mavericks with a sprained ankle, will not suit up on Thursday when the Lakers travel to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Jazz.
Reportedly, the superstar has actually left the team to return to L.A. and receive treatment.
Via ESPN:
“The Lakers star LeBron James has left the team’s road trip early to continue his ankle rehabilitation in Los Angeles, according to the team.”
James first sustained the injury on Sunday when the Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans, a loss that could very well single-handedly cost them a spot in the play-in tournament.
Meanwhile, Anthony Davis, who has been ramping things up and nearing a return from a sprained foot he suffered six weeks ago, likely won’t be ready to return on Thursday, as he is listed as doubtful.
