A statement has been issued after a collision between a tram and a car. The crash was pictured at around 8.30am in University Boulevard, Beeston, between a Range Rover and a NET tram.
The crash caused a short disruption to NET services, before being cleared. No injuries were reported.
Onlookers were shocked by the "dramatic" scene. Eyewitness Jeff McColl, 65, from Beeston, said: "It was sort of sandwiched between the tram and the ongoing route, a quite new Range Rover.
"It's a relatively new and pretty robust range rover, but it has come off worse. I couldn't see damage to the tram but certainly the front of the car looked written off.
"It was quite a dramatic scene, and quite surprising. Thankfully everyone looked okay, there didn't seem to be any injuries."
A spokesperson for NET said: "There was a collision between a car and the tram and there was a short disruption to services while it was dealt with.
"There was no major incident and trams are now running through. There were no injuries."
