Emergency services from across the county were called to a building fire in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Smoke could be seen from the building in Diamond Avenue and firefighters were called to the scene just after 12am on Monday, August 1.
Engines from the Ashfield, Blidworth, Mansfield, Alfreton, Hucknall, Arnold and Edwinstowe fire stations attended. The fire was put out by 16 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. They used three hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters remained at the scene at around 5am on Monday. In a Facebook post, Ashfield Fire Station said: "A fire was located and extinguished by 16 Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using three hose reel jets. Two positive pressure ventilation fans, thermal imaging camera and breaking in gear was also used."
