Statement after emergency services called to Clifton house fire

A person called the emergency services after a fire broke out in their home. Crews rushed to the incident shortly before 3pm on Tuesday (June 28).

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue service confirmed that the calls were made by the person who was in the property at the time. Firefighters rescued them from the house on Green Lane, in Clifton, after being called to the scene at 2.44pm.

It has not been confirmed yet if the person suffered any injuries. The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue crews will be visiting properties on Green Lane, Farnborough Road and Stirling Grove in Clifton to provide safety information. This is a measure taken in response to the recent fire in Green Lane.

Firefighters will visit 100 properties to assist the public with information. In a tweet announcing the visit from the crews, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "Following a recent fire in Clifton, crews will be visiting around 100 properties today [Saturday, July 2] on Green Lane, Farnborough Road and Stirling Grove to provide safety information to keep you safe in your property."
