The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed changes to some State Pension and benefit payment dates in light of next week’s bank holiday for The Queen’s funeral.
The state funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday, September 19 and has been declared a national bank holiday to allow as many people across the country to watch as possible. This means that payments due on that date will now be paid on the last working day before it which is Friday, September 16.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has also confirmed that people expecting payments for Child Benefit, Guardian’s Allowance, Working Tax Credits and Tax Credits will also receive it on September 16. This arrangement follows standard DWP and HMRC protocol that sees benefit and Tax Credits payment dates brought forward in line with national bank holidays.
