State of emergency declared as huge earthquake rocks Myanmar and Thailand

Myanmar Thailand Bangkok

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has struck central Myanmar, with tremors felt as far as Bangkok, Thailand.
The quake's epicentre was near Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city, and was followed by a 6.4 magnitude aftershock.
In Bangkok, a high-rise building under construction collapsed near Chatuchak Market, with casualties reported.
Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has declared a state of emergency.
The quake caused damage to historic sites and infrastructure in Myanmar, including parts of the former royal palace in Mandalay and a 90-year-old bridge in the Sagaing region.
