Stashed Celtics wing Juhann Begarin to stay in France, play in LNB Pro-A to hone skills in 2022-23 season

While it was never really much in doubt, it is now reportedly decided that stashed Boston Celtics wing Juhann Begarin plans to return to France to play for Paris Basket in that country’s LNB Pro-A league and the Euroleague according to new reporting from the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach.

Per the Globe reporter, the Les Abymes, Guadeloupe native will spend next season overseas working on his game despite a strong showing in this year’s NBA 2K23 Las Vegas Summer League play. There, Begarin put up a very solid 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game with the Celtics’ summer league squad, turning some heads with the unexpectedly strong performance.

The former No. 45 pick of the Celtics in the 2021 NBA draft, Begarin looks the part of an athletic combo guard with enough size to play up to the small forward position.

Still quite raw in terms of skill, his summer league performance hints that the French wing is getting closer to being ready to make the leap to the NBA, even if it is not quite his time just yet.
