"Starving" Conor McGregor attempts to locate McDonald's in Saint-Tropez for late-night feast

Conor McGregor attempted to locate a McDonald's restaurant during his holiday in Saint-Tropez as he watched Charles Oliveira defeat Justin Gaethje at UFC 274.

McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a second consecutive defeat by Dustin Poirier last July.

UFC 274 took place in Phoenix with McGregor providing commentary on social media as Oliveira choked out Gaethje in the main event, with lightweight rival Michael Chandler also knocking out Tony Ferguson.

The Irish star then posted a bizarre string of tweets, calling Ferguson "McNuggets" before trying to locate a fast-food restaurant.

He tweeted : "McDonald’s near me in St. Tropez, still open. I’m." He then continued: "Sorry meant that for Google haha." McGregor then claimed: "I’m starving haha."

McGregor is currently in the south of France after collecting his custom-made Lamborghini yacht worth around £2.6million. The Irishman has been living a relaxed lifestyle since his defeat last year and has concerned fans with regular posts of his drinking and partying.

He recently worried fans who are desperate to see his comeback, by posing to his fans smoking and drinking his infamous Proper Twelve whiskey in France.

However he has made a gradual return to training and is eyeing a comeback later this year after calling out several rivals, including 170lb champion Kamaru Usman.

McGregor was himself called out by Chandler following his brutal second-round KO of Ferguson. The Dubliner took to social media to respond, agreeing to the fight in principle. "I’d have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it", McGregor tweeted.

"A firework spectacle. I like the 170 shout also. Tipped him over. I’m definitely game to fight this guy at some stage in my career. I see it happening after tonight. Congratulations on a solid win Michael and another barnstormer."

Ferguson, who was taken to hospital shortly after he was stopped, previously branded McGregor "McNuggets" after he pair teased a fight throughout their careers in the UFC.

McGregor quickly moved to mock the star after his recent loss, tweeting: "Tony had some great nuggets in the media build up. Then he got punt kicked to the chin and got turned into a nugget himself. That’s crazy."

He later added with a picture of Ferguson from the fight: "If you pulled that out of a McDonald’s bag you’d dip it in sauce and eat without a moments thought. No doubt. That would pass as a legitimate McDonald's chicken nugget. That’s crazy!"
