Dallas Stars goalie Scott Wedgewood took his job to keep the puck out of the goal very seriously Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Stars and Jets entered Tuesday’s game toward the top of the Central Division, with both teams very eager to snag two points.
On a Blake Wheeler shot to the net for the Jets, the puck took a weird bounce off the stick and somehow landed on Wedgewood’s shoulder to prevent the goal.
It looked like a slick move on Wheeler’s behalf until gravity and physics sided with Wedgewood, who sported the puck on his shoulder like a chatty parrot flanking a friendly pirate.
We have no idea what to call this save. 😂

They say that the puck doesn’t lie, and in this case, the puck does lie, just on Wedgewood’s shoulder.
After all, the goalie’s Twitter handle is “@wedgewall,” which was apt on this insane save.
If the Stars really want to make hay in the Western Conference, they should keep a chip on their shoulder for the rest of the year, or at the very least, a few more pucks on Wedgewood’s.
